This could be very nasty. Your idea of about 21 Units sounds about right,
but would an organized invasion work on an area like that? It seems the
natives of the 5 Peaks and it surrounding forest would strike using
guerrilla warfare and traps. Any large standard force marched into this
wilderness would probably be pecked to death long before the EO got
involved. Unfortunatly for the Players he is unlikley to want to risk damage
to his Sources so he will probably take an active hand right away. And as he
can't direct the attacks against the invaders from all sides at once, he
will most likely summon a few nasty little Lts.(say a Fiend or three)and
have them lend a hand in coordinating the defense. Aside from the sentient
monsters don't forget the entire area is crawling with other beasts, and
malevolent plant life. And whats an evil mage with out a small herd of
Owlbears. On the Political side they may run into a problem with the Priests
of Cuiraecen. They might not like the idea of someone disturbing thier
hidden monastary. Of course Lifesbane might think someone is after his
treasure and come to put a stop to that. By marching on the 5 Peaks your
Players are stepping into a hornet's nest. You should at least let them know
that this area teems with monsters and they could easily lose more then they
gain. Oh well I know I didn't answer your question very well, but thats my 2
GBs.

thanks for the insight. I remember reading about the dragon supposedly
living the Peaks. I would tell the regent planning the invasion of the Peaks
about the monsters that make it up, but he hasn't done any espionage or
research into it, so its his fault. His ego is getting big, and wants more
power. The plan (devised by Alamie), is to jointly attack the 5 peaks in the
spirit of good faith. However, as the regent of Tournen commits the majority
of his forces to the Peaks campaign, he'll attack Tournen.
Now, the ruler in my campaign, is a Rogue, and rules almost all the
guilds. HE wants to expand, and get more power. I offered it to him. But, I
dont want to make it easy for him either. SOoooo yes, he wants to wipe the
Goblinoid race and all those other baddies out of existance so he can move
in and colonize and start building guilds to sell those "Wild furs & skins".

Any other "evil" DM thoughts out there on what i can do to the regent??
