I will not repost the same stuff again because you all know it.
Anyway, by my recolection the Lost were indeed some mages, but I seem
to remember them being mages taught by Azrai to use magic. The
impression I got from reading the histories is that the Five Tribes had
no real grasp of any magic except Priest magic. The only problem I have
with all that is that the first human mages were supposed to be made by
Azrai. Only Vorynn is the god of magic and all that. How come the evil
dickhead god made mages before the nice god o magic? I may be wrong and
I'm sure someone will let me know if I am.

That's a fine question: while the Vos were supposed to know some magic,
they were not true masters. I mean, one must have blood to truly master
magic. Yet the Lost had done so even before Deismaar, so logically without
blood. How so? And the Vos did not have the power to resist the call of
Azrai. I kinda see Vorynn as the god of wisdom, a remote god, who did not
really have a close relationship with his tribe. If he was a god of magic,
that was because he regulated the flow of magic in the world. Yet, were
there any human mages? Probably not... Yet there were elven ones. Even so,
they did not worship gods, so why have a god of magic? Or is it that magic
is divine and always needs regulation and control?
    Help me out here.!

Vorynn was a god of divination and illusion. Not True magic. True Magic
is what Azrai taught to a select few, after first empowering them with a
touch of his divinity. The Vos did know magic--it was Lesser magic and
knew peaceful ways before the corruption by Azrai.
