DM Help
A question I have forgotten:
Are there around someone who have fond a different set of rule, either hand
made or published, that fit Birthright ?

I have some things in mind, yes. Ill tell u, but not right now. About the
empire though... wouldn't it be kinda hard to get rid of Boeruine and the
other jerk, Avan? Expect major opposition.
And about a greater plot: the Lost. I dunno much yet, cos i'm just a player
and my DM won't tell me much about it yet, but he's up to sth.
And as far as my characters long-term ambitions are, it ain't money or
power. Or sources. Actually, i'd like to bring Basaia back from the
dead-book. How do u expect to raise Azrai, by the way?

I agree, but I have another problem: let your player gain levels quicly and
they are not any more like the other people, cause, we know, in Cerilia the
great character are, to say, 7th level about. How you solve the problem? To
let all these people grow like the PCs is a bit forced, giving PCs less XP
than they gain isn't fair, then ?

There are a few ways to get around this. FIrst, use the ancient rule that
you can never gain more than 1 level per adventure..it slows them dawn a
bit (RL terms..game time is still the same). Have the PCs require to
train, and pay for training with a NPC specific to their class. This is
useful because if the NPC is not available (adventuing/vacation/dead/just
doesn't feel like it) the PCs can't advance until you areready to let
them. As well, run a few more domain turns, to make game time go by a
little faster...PCs do have to spend a considerable time ruling their
relams. Finally, if none of this seemsto work, there is always the Shadow
World, and its multitude of level draining beasties to bring the PCs back
down to the levels you want. (Hmmmm...its great to be the DM :) )

I've just written my own set, leaving most of the Birthright stuff as
it is, but including the various "house rules". Mainly I wrote it
because I was fed up with having to use AD&D which is, to say the
least, rather.... cumbersome.

The Lost:
Undead Sorcerer Kings predating Deismaar. They were Azrai's most trusted
advisors and lieutenants. When he died, the few that survived Deismaar
either fled to Aduria or went on to Cerilia.
I have no access to DM info, but i am sure of the following:
There are a number of Lost in Cerilia, at least two and might even be four.
The most certain is El-Sheigull (correct me if i speel it wrong). Another
one is possibly a Lost, and resides in Vosgaard. The Raven might be Lost,
but he is most probably a "son of Azrai". Distinction is a bit fuzzy.
Finally, i suspect the Awnshegh known as the Dread might be one too. He was
blooded before Deismaar without being a god. That suggests Lost. And he was
also powerful enough to challenge Azrai. He lost, tho.
