For my old Greyhawk campaign I recreated the Monk class from 1st edition.
One of the changes I made was to include Psionics into their abilties.
Instead of making a whole new class as I did, you can always use the
Psionicist class, and just call them Monks. It would be the easiest way.
Just remember they should be almost as uncommon as True Mages in BR, and
they should refrain from taking sides in international disputes. Instead any
order should have a particular cause that they promote.(ie. guarding evil
artifacts, working toward returning the old gods, awaiting some signifacant
battle that is foretold to be coming, etc.) Though I haven't used any orders
of Monks in BR yet, after reading these posts I'll probably start using them
again, once I figure out how to fit them into the scene. Like my Elven
Druids, they would make great plot devices. Thanks for making me think on
this again.

I didn't really like the way they handled Psionics in W&tW; I like the CHB
of Psionics myself, but thats just a personal choice.

Maybe the Mastiens were psioncists, A few still remain on the isle of the
serpent.
Perhaps a few people learned from them and that is how it spread.
I would make the psioncist a very rare thing though.

Why not have the ability to use psionics be as strange as using true
magic, that only the blooded can use it? So only blooded (of a
special type/god or a special branche nealy killed off) people can
use psionics (and some creature that have psionic properties like the
Mindflayers). Any comments?

I don't think that would feel right. Can't really argue why, but that's
just not how I see psionics.
