    Am I blooded? Would I know ?

    > How would I know if I was a blooded scion ? IS there some 'feeling'
    >inside you, such that you just know your blooded, and by how much ?
    > Or do I know I'm blooded only because I'm the king's brother, and he's
    >blooded ?
    > Can you be blooded, and not know ?
    > Can you tell if someone else is blooded ?

If you can't tell who is blooded, how in the hell do you know who to make
    a regent ?
If I'm a ruler of several provinces, and want to make a baron out of
someone and give them a province to ruler for me, how do I choose a blooded
noble from an unblodded noble ?
Seems to be a problem here....

    I reasoned thusly:

You go from being a normal dude, to being infused with the energy of a
dead god! Yes, you can tell the difference.

No you can't tell if someone else is blooded. If you could, then many
of the spells in the Book of Magecraft would be useless.
Unless you are blooded, and you've known someone all thier life. Then,
if they became blooded, you've be able to tell the difference. If you
weren't blooded, and your friend of many years became blooded, you might
know something was up, but you wouldn't necessarily think he been
invested. You might just think he had drunk a lot of moutain dew
    recently.

I disagree. I think it would take someone special to do all the things
that a blooded regent could do. A simple commoner couldn't lead an entire
nation well unless he had an extremely high charisma and a brute squad or
    something.

Certainly a blooded character would be able to tell (around the age of
puberty -- which is when it develops) if he or she was blooded. Either
by the powers they develop, or some other means.

Wouldn't this make the spells/items/abilities in the Book of Magecraft
and elsewhere practically worthless then...Amulet of Blood Scrying, etc.
I have to disagree on this one. The Sword of Roele's special ability
(eyes glow in the hands of a blooded character) would be pointless also.

Where did you find this reference to puberty ?

Well, not having read the Book of Magecraft, this information was unknown
to me; but it would seem then that I would know if I'm blooded, but
    wouldn't know if you were...
    I'm not telling, btw :)

Notice, all you crazy DMs, that this just has possibilities for roleplaying
out the wazoo!!!!!!! Read #2 above again and then do what I do with my PCs -
They roll for their blood abilities in secret and any powers which I can use
for roleplaying later (such as Divine Wrath) I don't tell them about!! I
wish I could describe the players' faces last month when I said "Uh, Sir
Daren is starting to look a bit too much like a berserker". They all turned
green!!! John (Sir Daren) started getting all excited. It was one of those
classic moments that all DMs everywhere strive for in every session of
gaming. It made the game fun, which is what this is all about.

    >...solution...[to have a blooded vassal]....pick your family....[you know
    their blodded].

Pick wisely, for even though they are family--they are still blooded. If you
give someone in your family any power in your domain or realm, they can
end-up usurping you!!!! Add to that, bloodtheft (even though they (already)
carry a bloodline, they still use yours to strengthen theirs!!!!!
