How come? The bloodline lies within the character, and is a part of them. =
It doesn't come from the land, that's regency. IMHO, of course. =
Although I can see where it might be unbalancing to have blooded =
characters from Cerilia galavanting around other campaigns...

The current dieties of Cerilia, as I understand it, received their power =
from the old gods. IMC, this does not give them special power over others =
who are of the same derivation. Thus, although a diety could surely =
strike a character in any way should they choose, I don't see them as =
guardians and procurers of the bloodline.

    I agree.

In your game, then, are the blood abilities granted by the land? In mine, =
the powers are granted originally from the death of the old gods, and from =
there exist independently from the land...

How do others of you out there view the blood abilitys' connections?

The blood abilties are indeed in the blood, but the blood is able to
harness the magical energy of the land and turn it into what the scion
wishes to do: travel, fear, animal affinity or whatever. I tend to think
of a scion as a walking seilsheigh stone. Just as the seilsheigh stone
holds the power of the old gods, so does the scion's blood. All the
seilsheigh stone does is help the wearer tap the innate magic of the
lands. All your blood, in a blooded character, does is tap the magical
energy of the lands. You do not have to be a regent to tap these powers,
although that is how I originally wanted to play it and I think that this
makes regency a larger boon, you must be in contact with the land. Move
of Aebrynis, forget the blood abilities. No way to "charge" your blood.

    IMHO
