I don't know about being cursed into RL, but if a good, and wholesome person
becomes perverted by their power, and uses it to harm those who trust, and
love him, the Dark Powers of RL may notice him. A possible storyline could
be a young Prince, who after being spurned by a young woman that he had
secretly loved for years(prehaps a servant), decides to kill his family
draining their BL. He thinks his family is keeping them apart, and with
their power he will above his actions. But the Prince is wrong, each member
of his family loves him, and they have each tried to do what the can to get
the two together. But since she was a serving girl it had to be done in secret.

The PCs would be at the Regent's house attending some diplomatic function,
as the Prince stole through the house killing his family. The King would be
the last to die. Called away from a discussion with the PCs by his son. A
few minutes later screams would get everyones attention. As the characters
go to the source of the scream they discover the dead family, and finally
find the source. The serving girl rejected the Prince even worse when he
told her what he did. In a rage he killed her to. She screamed just before
being killed. The Mists would grab the whole castle, and evryone inside,
dropping them in a twisted version of the Regent's homeland. The Dark Powers
would twist BAs against the users, prehaps making the Prince a BL Vampire as
I mentioned in a post some time ago, and only affecting PCs in a subtle way.
Just enough to make them nervous. Several adventures could be made that
would center around the PCs finding a way to destroy the new Dark Lord, and
in doing so returning home. Sorry for the rambling.

One last effect I forgot to mention. As time can pass differently in RL. The
PCs have no way of knowing how long they have been in RL. If, for instance,
time passes with 1 day(in RL) equaling 1 week(in BR), the PCs may be in for
a surprise when they return home. If it takes them 3-4 weeks to get back
home they may discover that they have lost control of their Holdings, their
Thrones, or at least lost some of their influence. Civil wars may have
started, or even true wars, with nations seeing a country weakened without a
leader so they strike. Or even one country blaming another for the loss of
their leader. A lot of fun can be had with renegade PC regents attempting to
    reclaim their legacies.
