I have used Lycanthropes several time in my campaign, but never vampires or
any other creature where there is an awnsheghlien of the same name, ie
    manticore. basilisk, spinx, etc.

Hey! I just had a great idea!

I'm not sure that this would be anything other than a neat
explaination, but it just occured to me that the Shadow World could *be*
    Azrai!

In other words, after Deismarr, Azria's energy became the shadow
world. Like his 'ghost.' I kinda like the idea of a dead god's ghost
    being an entire universe.

I also like the idea of The Shadow World being a carbon copy of
Cerilia. So a mage with a magic mirror that saw into the Shadow World
would see an evil version of himself looking back, wondering who that
other person was. Not entirely unlike the Mirror/Mirror episode of Star
    Trek.

P.S. Someone asked if Mages weren't supposed to be rare in all AD&D
campaigns and I think the answer is a resounding NO! I once, accurately
I believe, described the Forgotten Realms as a world in which you
couldn't throw a rock without hitting a 10th level wizard.

Wasn't the Shadow World around before Deismar? I always thought the
Cold Rider or whatever his name is would make a good Azrai incarnation.
