    Cerilian Future

    Hey everyone,

I just had this neat idea for a assassination attempt or mission spring
off. Please tell me what you think of it. I'm not very knowledgeable
with Cerilian history so please correct me on any errors.

A very old elf requests an audience with your most powerful regent,
which should be accepted for it to work. Naturally the regent (who
should be human) wonders why the elf traveled over to land to speak with
him. The elf claims to be a very wise clarvoyant who can see deep into
the future. He tells the regent he has very important news about the
future of his life (or life of his childern if you wish to go that
far). Naturally the regent will be very intrested in what the elf has
    to say.

The elf talks of cerilia under the regents rule. A vast empire
stretching across all of the continent. All the awnshwighlen killed and
all but one of the tighmieveral weapons in the safe hands of the
regent. All of the other PCs are told to be either dead or living grand
lifes as prominent figures. All but one...
(The rest depends on if you have another PC regent owning nearby
provinces who is friends to the regent hearing the elf.)

He explains that through the emperors (regent he is speaking to)
conquests he betrayed his friend and took over his land (You can probley
guess where the other tighmieveral weapon is). His friend went into
hiding in the wilderness, where he fought mighthy beasts and became a
powerful warrior (or wizard or theif or whatever). He spent his life
watching the regent and wanting bitter revenge. He also has the last
tighmieveral weapon in his possesion and is in a deep lust to use it
(The PCs are the ONLY blooded characters left).

The elf tells of the emporer's rule being extremly smooth until things
start to fall apart. The other former friend PC has trained a mighty
army to destroy the regents reign. The regents army is small since
there is no use for it and everyone is united. The regent takes his
army and flees to one prominent point, Mount Audricca. This is what the
regent renamed Mount Deismaar after he took control of it, unfortunally
no one had the balls to stop him. Well the regent then calls on the
gods to help him defeat his opponent and protect himself (If you can't
see what I'm getting at, you don't know enough about the game). The
eviler regent also has an army of evil gods on his side. The battle of
Audricca soon instigates. The regents are reliving the battle that is
the basis of their entire powers.=20

DISASTER STRIKES. Forests burn and land slides occur through out the
land. The sky is covered by a thick layer of clouds and lightning
storms plaque the realm. Waves taller and stronger then the most
steadfast giant crash against the coasts. The regents meet at the peak
of the mountains with weapons drawn. Then an incident occurs which
never before happened in all of Cerilia's history (assume this). Two
    tighmieveral weapons clash together...

This yields fantastic results. A surge of power travels back in time to
when the two weapons were first forged. The elf who created them
incinerates on the spot, and continues to die backwords in time to the
point of his birth. The surge travels up his family line to one point
    in history, ____________ (

Cool. This is very visionary stuff. This has scope. By the way, have you
ever read the Chronomancer supplement? It's about time travelling
wizards. Very useful supplement, even though I've never used any of the
    material.
That elf could be an actual
chronomancer, wishing to change the future he has foreseen, withholding
information or lying to make the PC's do his dirty work... Maybe he even
works against himself, as an earlier version of himself has different
views of how things should be done...

This sounds interesting and I may modify what I was planning to do for
the second part of it (which I will be posting soon if I have the
time). My origional plan was to have the hunter elf that was supposed
to go into the forest change all of the history because of a small
unrecognized event that happened while he was in the woods. I'll
explain this when I continue the story.

    Cerilian Future

Visionaries and chronomancers, not again! I have to remind people of
the very destructive idea of knowing future on a long stretch, for
you get self fulfilling and destroying prophecies and the like which
do wreck your campaign. On the other hand the story line is quite a
good one, and very creative, but I still resent the fact that this
guy comes up and tells it all. Why not start it off with rumors and
small talk, which by some reason seem to fit for a number of times.
The things rumored about then actually take place (minor things). As
things advance, the regent would surely get wind of it and will start
to investigate. Eventually he will find the elf and they can have a
conversation. By this lengthy proces, the time and predicted actions
have taken place for a big part, which is more safe. See the problems
of various films with just a minor aspect of time travelling/prior
knowledge (12 mokeys eg.) and then ponder on the scale of what you
just described. Oh man, it was just a dream, no real thing would be
the best way our mind can handle this info. Don't you think likewise?

There is a world just around the corner of your mind
where reality is an intruder and dreams come true.
You may escape into it at will, you need no secret password,
magic wand or Alladins Lamp, all you need is your own imagination...
