What about the relationship with Dhoesone? I bet they could raise
horses there AND they have a unit stationed there (Ruins of Empire).
I think the horses come from Dhoesone.

Well remember that there were severe human vs, elf wars in the past
long gone (if I'm correct) and I bet that this would be a remniscant
of that period. In the first adventure I played in Bright, we
discovered an old human defensive stronghold (created by dwarves) in
Coeranys, very close to the border of the Sielwolde. According to the
DM this was a remniscant from those war periods when humans battled
the elves for the elves didn't like their lands being taken by those
short lived pesky humans. What do you all think?

    Tuarhievel Cavalry?

    Hello Folks,

I have read through the Tuarhievel Domain Source Book and was rather
astonished to see Cavalry listed among the troop units available to the
Elves. Now, looking at the map of Tuarhievel one immediately notices it
is covered by forest. I think it strange that the Elves would be able to
produce the infrastructure necessary to train cavalry units given the
terrain of the region. Cavalry needs lots of open land. Not just to
fight in but also for the raising of the horses and the training grounds.
Cavalry troopers are historically drawn from the populace of areas where
horses are commonly raised and are part of the human/animal work force.
Forest elves simply do not need horses in a forested environment.
    Opinions on this?

Additionally, in the SB there are also drawings of a defensive line,
somewhat reminiscent of the infamous Maginot Line, which I also find a
little quizzical. Elves never struck me as having the inclination to
form a static defensive strategy. These forts are built around trees
with platforms and a stone wall beneath. I guess the point could be argued
that this being the last elven enclave in the Aelvinnwode a "Fortress
Tuarhievel" mentality has developed. Any thoughts on this?

I would assume that elves had their own horses, maybe even a different breed
of horse that liked living in forests and was trained to travel through the
forest, so could be used by their knights, and cavalry.
This would mean that Elven horses were quite a bit more intelligent than Human
horses. Seeing that all of the Elven lands have units of Cavalry and Knights I
would suggest that the horses that they use have been living in the Elven
forests for a very long time, so can be used in their mounted units.

And I always thought that Tuarhievel was one of the more friendly Elven
settlement, if not the most open and friendly with human. But I guess living
so close to the Gorgon, the goblins, and the Humans must make even the most
    friendly Elf a bit worried.

I can agree that the close ties between Dhoesone and Tuarhievel could
include a some kind of agreement on horses. I will incorporate that into
any adventures that include elvish cavalry. However, I don't think enough
horses would be supplied to outfit the, I believe 5 units, of Tuarhievel
    cavalry noted in the SB.
