    The rise of the guilds

    It's me, again. Just wanted to share a tought with you guys.

    Just an historical note: there may be nothing wrong at all with the power
    guilds possess in the game, since it does follow an historical trend. If I
    recall correctly, it was in the Late Middle Ages that the merchant class
    began to grow in power in Germany and France, to the point that they could
    contest the nobles' hold on power. That's effectively the situation in
    Endier.

    Funny how game mecanisms sometimes re-creates the conditions that gave
    birth to historical movements :-)

    The rise of the guilds

    Within the campaign I played in last year the guilds came under constant
    attack from both law and each other. They had unlimited financial
    resources, for a while, but they lacked the regency to withstand a
    concentrated attempt to contest their holdings.
