The rise of the guilds
It's me, again. Just wanted to share a tought with you guys.
Just an historical note: there may be nothing wrong at all with the power
guilds possess in the game, since it does follow an historical trend. If I
recall correctly, it was in the Late Middle Ages that the merchant class
began to grow in power in Germany and France, to the point that they could
contest the nobles' hold on power. That's effectively the situation in
Endier.
Funny how game mecanisms sometimes re-creates the conditions that gave
birth to historical movements :-)

The rise of the guilds
Within the campaign I played in last year the guilds came under constant
attack from both law and each other. They had unlimited financial
resources, for a while, but they lacked the regency to withstand a
concentrated attempt to contest their holdings.
