    Evil parties ar

    RE: Evil parties w/LN regent

Sebastiaan -- Frankly, this sounds like an impossible situation to me. Your
regent is, hopefully, looking out for his people and trying to do his best
for them, as he sees it, which is from a lawful viewpoint. Evil people,
especially powerful ones, are likely to bring harm to your citizens, and,
unless they are all lawful evil, break a lot of laws in the process. If I
were your regent, I'd either get them as far from my country as possible, or
find something to convict them of (shouldn't be too hard) and string 'em up.
But that might just be my anti-evil-PC side talking . . .

I look at it a tad differently. In the cases of LN I would say ones
primary consideration would be law and probably the welfare of the
people. But due to his alignment he would probably feel that laws are
the best way to look after the people. And to be perfectly honest a CG
charcater or CN is just as likedly to to cause trouble as a evil
character. As far as an evil party causing harm to the people, it
depends what their goals are, most evil people aren't just evil,
there will be some personality trait that would make them evil. or
several personality traits at that. ( The most common one would be
the want of power above all else. )

One could even say that evil parties may be usefull to a LN regent,
providing that they don't overstep his bounds, and his laws. (Too
mutch anyway). If they have some fairly sick viewpoints, that to
could be put to good use. Consider it someone who loves killing for
the sake of killing being put to use in as the town executioner. Well
he will probably like his job.

Or consider suing them to run merchant trade routes, for you. Evil
charcaters have the ability to be rather good at trading because they
don't have morals getting in their way.

Over all I would say that an Evil party isn't necesarily a bad thing
for a LN regent to have around. The only thing I would suggest is
keep an eye on them. You don't have to trust them to work with them.

    Cheers
    Alvin
