Can anyone tell me where the "official" information is on The Lost?

I've tried the Rulebooks and the BoM but can't find it.

    Yours,

Try in the BoM or the BoP (I forget which) in the back in the section on
magical artifacts. It should be in a section on an artifact called "The
    Viper's Eye" or somesuch.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Lost were a group of
ancient necromancers in Khinasi lands (el-Sheghul(?), ruler of the
Black Spear Tribes is one as I recall) who legendarily vanished
centuries ago, and who are now a myth. I don't recall them having any
    connection with Azrai.
