    War System questions?

OK the war system is pretty simple, but I have a couple of doubts with Pcs on the
    Battlefield:

1)What is the xps awards for the battle system? for commandeering a unit?
is there a way to calculate this basing on the defeated units statistics?
    2) What happens when a PC is comanding an unit and it is destroyed?

I'm sure you could invent one but I usually give out a flat XP just for fighting in
the battle (like 500-2000, depending on enemy) then I award stuff for command
strategy. Good ideas and manuvers win XP. Fighters, of couse, get more than other
    classes.

I'd say the PC manages to escape to another unit or to the reserves, but you can
always throw in the chance (or certanty if you wish) of death or capture.

I'm not sure, but I think one of the BR adventures gives 100 XP to the
leader of a winning army for ever opponent unit defeated.

    >2) What happens when a PC is comanding an unit and it is destroyed?

The old Battlesystem(TM) game has a good table for when PC and
important NPC fighting in units have their armies slaughtered around them:

    d10 Charater's Fate
1 Killed; body lost (possibly bloodline lost?)
2-3 Killed; body lies on the field
4-7 Badly wounded (1d6 hp left; possibly critical hit)
    8-10 Unwounded, but unconscious for 10 rounds/turns

I think there would be a very high risk of being captured for ransom,
a very normal practice at the time.

I use the following equation: Total hits of the units on the PC side - total hits of
their opposition x 1,000. Divide by number of PCs with those commanding units
getting an additional half a share and the overall commander getting an additional
full share. PCs shouldn't, after all, get a lot of XP from smashing two units of
goblins with five units of knights.

I had him take serious damage, but survive in the past. I really like that d10
chart, however, so I'm going to use that in the future.

    Hope this helps.
