Richard comes from the German and Michael draws its roots from Hebrew.
Both had a popular history as English names. If you're looking for more
"normal"-type names, I'd suggest looking thorugh English histories such
as Bede's or Geoffrey of Monmouth's. Or just browse through a list of
English and Germanic kings for some good ideas.
