Pre-deismaar realms have never been a problem for me. I think most
people here know how I feel about non-blooded regents ruling realms, so
    I won't go into that.

However, that being said, officially I stick to the rules and say that
there doesn't really have to be any changes at all to the realm rules
for Pre-Deismaar Cerilia or conversion to other game systems.

You see, the way I see it there were blooded regents back in the days
before Deismaar - the chosen champions of the Old Gods. Now, in my
personal opinion, these were nothing more than the very avatars of the
Old Gods (not mere mortals as the BR text suggest, although people of
Aebrynis may think this). Thus, IMHO, the very gods themselves ruled
their people according to their nature (of course).

Thus, Anduiras ruled the Andus in his avatar form, always taking on a
new form every generation or so. Brenna the Brecht, etc., etc. Azrai,
of course, was Emperor of the Adurians. The Adurian people worshipped
their emperor as a living god (which, of course, he very much was!).
Variations of the pharaohs of Egypt is how I view the old gods going
about their lives among the mortals of Aebrynis. Sumerian and other
Middle Eastern kingship/religion aspects play a strong role whenever I
    detail bits of pre-Deismaar civilizations.

This could apply to other TSR worlds. Now the avatars of a god of each
system take on a more important role as literal caretakers of various
realms in the campaign milieu. For instance, if we take Forgotten
Realms: the avatar of Bale (or Cyrus or whoever it is now) is the
supreme and actual ruler of Thay (or whatever that place is called). He
rules through puppet mortals, if you like.

The only bookkeeping that would have to be done is add a new stat to the
listing on the avatars of each god - their 'realm potential' or
something like that. Particularly favoured champions of these gods
could be bestowed the highest honor by being given a portion of a god's
'realm potential' or something like that.

So, the BR system probably doesn't have to change all that much at all.
Of course, you could just rule that bloodlines and RPs are two entirely
separate entities, and one is not necessary for the other ...

But I've already gone through THAT flaming 'wall of death' before here
on this list, so please be gentle ...

    Cheers,
    Me

Do some of you own the FR expansion about the Old Empires? Mulhorand is
ruled not by true avatars, but by something between mortal and avatar. I
don't know the details of these types out of my head. But as far as I
remember such a way of ruling might not sound that bad. Maybe Aduria was
something like the Ancient Egyptians with Azrai very alike with Set.
