Lurking should be allowed on all lists.

I was wondering when someone official-like would step up and make that
comment. On that note, I feel justified now transferring my vote from
Jim/Darren to Adam Theo, especially given the experience issue. Sorry,
Darren, but you're just too active for my tastes.
    Thx,

There it is..... I agree with this 100%, as do many other people here on
this list... and if Jim/Darren cannot accept this.. so be it...Then you
should know that my vote is against you, and in favor of Adam Theo(who seems
a little more easy going). As it was mentioned in the hypothetical situation
of the boy/girl in the hobby shop, don't chase away onlookers, they may buy
    the boxed set.
    I just don't like Jim's/Darren's view on this....nothin personal =)

Anyways here is a question for all gurus of this wonderous game:
In the BR rulebook on page 82 it mentions that at level 7 sources can affect
    ALL domain actions...
    am I interpreting this correctly?
also, if I had a source of 4 the only thing that I cannot affect is trade
route...so if the landed regent wishes to muster armies can I oppose this?
(note that source 1-3, a source holding cannot affect mustering)

also another note on my latter question....can a landed regent use his land
influence and source influence when say a guilder tries to muster?
Just a thought that has passed

I always thought so, sort of like calling out the national guard.

Well, it seems that no one has answered this one, so I'll give it a try:

Actually, affecting events as you have interpreted that particular phrase is
too direct. In the terms of what the rulebook says, "affecting events" is
performing actions. So the list is actually those actions that the wizard
can perform with the holding itself. The BoM clarifies this a bit.

Level 0 sources cannot perform domain or realm actions except for contest
and rule (two basic actions that are essential to holdings). Note that a
level 0 source can have a ley line connected to it, and can still be a
destination point for a realm spell.

Level 1-3 holdings can perform any actions except for Creating a Trade
Route, Agitating, Building, Fortifying, and Mustering Armies (directly).
Note that with higher level sources and ley lines, the Wizard could use
Realm spells to simulate these actions, but they can't do them otherwise.

Level 4-6 holdings can perform any actions except for Creating a trade
route. All other actions are permitted from the holding itself, without
    need of any realm spells.

Level 7 source holdings are actually considered to be level 0 guilds
(although the level of the "guild" cannot be increased) so it is possible to
create a trade route from the source holding to generate income. If all
trade route slots of a province are already in use, then the wizard cannot
create a trade route until a slot becomes available, in the normal way. If
the Wizard rules the level 7 source to level 8, it does not increase the
"guild" aspect of this to level 1.

Getting to the second part of your question, no one can effect mustering
units. Non-landed regents (and source holders of level 4 and above) can
muster mercenary units if they desire. The landed regent in question
cannot, under the official rules, stop him/her from doing so. Nor can the
temple/guild/source holders prevent a landed regent from mustering normal
units, should that be his/her desire. Note that reprecussions can take
place for such an action, however, it can't be directly stopped by anyone.

    Hope this helps,

    Memnoch
