    Lurking and other things

Greetings and a warm welcome to all my fellow Lurkers. I have
"lurked" on this list serv for a few months now, not because I have
little to say but because I am still on the learning curve as far as
understanding the game goes. I first started PBeM birthright with what
eventually became "When Night Falls" and felt it premature to express an
"uneducated" opinion on the many topics covered here.

Because of my limited exposure I'm am not all that familiar with
many of you, so voting for an administrator is problematic....who do I
vote for? A few of you play in the games I am currently involved in
so that may change, but until then my putting forward a candidate would
just be a "roll of the dice". An opinion without foundation. I do
suggest that those who are interested in the position do as Jim (?) has
done and throw their hat into the ring. I also suggest we place a time
limit for applying for the position (say monday?...that will give the
    "weekenders" a chance). God....see why I don't post?

Who ever gets the job is going to need a sense of humor....that a
    least is certain.

Many have listed reasons why "lurkers" should be allowed access to
this list serv but I have yet to hear why they should be dropped. If the
number of membership was large I could understand a desire to trim it
down to a reasonable size, but 250 seems far from excessive.

Now that I expressed my opinion, I'd like to put forward a topic....
I'd like to see a discussion on strategy and tactics in birthright,
including the use of mage and priest magic. My exposure to "war" in
Birthright is non-existant....and so I would like to hear everyone's
    "secret" strategies for success! :)

This is part of the reason people should join this list - to learn more
about BR. I seriously doubt that anyone will ridicule members who ask
simple questions, or topics already covered before. Indeed, I am quite
certain there will be more than enough people willing to spend time
giving you answers to your questions. Unfortunately, it seems that
everyone waits for certain 'veteran' individuals to give an answer, so I
am attempting to change that. Indeed, input from 'newbies' is
especially helpful, as it provides a learning experience for everyone by
perhaps presenting a new way of thinking to an old question.

    > God....see why I don't post?<

What was wrong with what you posted ahead of that?!? Hmmm ...

This sort of questioning is a very valuable contribution to the list -
this is what I am aiming to promote here, regular questions like this
from everyone. If you stayed silent, would this have ever been talked
about? Perhaps, but there is no guarantee. Now, though, someone will
probably be happy to voice their opinion for you and your question will
    be answered to your satisfaction.

    Cheers
