That brings up something I've sort of had a problem with in the BR
system. According to the rules, it is not all that difficult to make an
entire nation worship one god where they had previously worshipped
another. It can happen in less than 2 months per level of the province,
with luck (contest it down, then create and rule it up, with lieutenant
actions figured in). Obviously the opposing church will fight this
sweeping change, but what about the masses? Are we to consider them so
much like sheep? (Not that the answer to that last isn't probably
    'yes').
    Thx,

I've occasionally, as DM, used something similar to the "loyalty" levels
of a province, only specifically to a temple ("faithfulness") or to a
guild ("brand loyalty" or somesuch). But only when it was required as part
of the ongoing story, then ditched it as soon as the conflict was
resolved. Probably the last thing a DM needs is another level to keep
    track of over time.
