    Is the line offically dead?

    Hello

I've been away from the list for quite a while- is the Birthright
line offically dead now or what? I realiuze that TSR on'y puts things
on hiatus, but realistically, what's up? I realize also that this has
probably been bandied about quite a bit for a while, but I was still
wondering. If no one wants to clutter up the list, then you can e-mail
    me personally. Thanks a lot.

    >We don't really have any more news. The line's status ("indefinite
    >hiatus") has not changed, and if we haven't heard any sounds from TSR/WotC
    >about starting it up again, neither have we heard anything about it being
    >ditched. Any TSR staffers who post here (Carrie Bebris most recently,
    >although she's freelance now) are careful to remain ambiguous on the

Well I don't know whether a good death for Birthright or a stunning revival
only to falter later would be good.
I am very fond of Birthright, one of the only AD&D campaign worlds to Grab
me. (Al Qadim and Jakandor are the other two and they aren't FULL campaign
    worlds)
Its for the reason that I am so fond of Birthright that I don't know if I
want it to return, I don't want it mucked about in until little of its
original theme and purpose are gone, muck like what has happened to
Greyhawk, and I would guess Forgotten Realms--for example in FR they say
their are not many elves wondering the Mainland most have retreated to
Evermeet, reading through all the FR supplements ex. I think my count was
around 1.3 million Elves wondering FR (that's slightly exaggerated but you
get the point) you call that FEW?
Dead Birthright is left to those who love it to make it their own world in a
sense, alive it threatens to fall into the Maelstrom of chaos that huge
gaming companies produce, Birthright didn't fail TSR--TSR failed Birthright,
the products that were good were Few (and expensive, most of them were boxed
sets or large sourcebooks ) the little Domain packages were over the top,
the adventures were over the top too (Look I know that some people don't
start with 1st level PC's but write a few modules at 1-3 before slapping out
a 15+ level module for a world that has just come out)
If it were revived in a better game system (sorry I have stuck too and loved
AD&D for years but its just not enough anymore) maybe even aim it for AD&D3
or maybe Alternity-Fantasy.....or SAGA (as much as I disdane that idea I
have been looking at all the beautiful artwork for this game and thinking
the cards would be fantastic if they carried them from the actual product
    art)
of course Saga is aimed to narrowly focused for an RPG with heavy Wargame
elements, unless they worked the Cards into the Wargame aspect...(looking at
Marvel Saga it has Events listed on the cards a concept which could easily
adapt to Birthright if done correctly) oh well I ramble. I want Birthright
to live, but I'd rather it live on in a few pious loyal hearts of those who
find it the best, than laid into the hands of those who would do injustice
to its either I spirit or in law. :)

I would have been happy with the Book of Regency that was supposed to
come out the month after they put everything on hold? Anybody know
what new regency oriented actions where supposed to be in that book?

Yeah, but I REALLY want to get my hands of the "Book of Regency" and the
Shadow World Trilogy that was in production when the line was stopped.
    Esp. the Book of Regency.
