I was discussing what my favorite thing in birthright is with my friends, and
I was surprised that after thinking about it, it was that the priest class was
finally given a dominant role in a world. This is something that has always
disturbed me in fantasy books, settings, and such. Were are the religons?
They usually seem vacant and lofty. I loved Birthright because they got right
in it, down and dirty. The Churches are the most powerful group there is. A
low magic- highly priestly campaign, instead of the usuall low priest-high
magic campaigns. They even go and say that priestly magic won the huma-elf
war. Wow. I mean the priest can get a load of money, cast realm spells, and
control the population. It just seems to me that the priest finally has gotten
their due, and that made me a big fan of Birthright.
