I guess I'll chime in on this. I wouldn't introduce any other god until
I thought the potential of the current gods hadn't been tapped. The
introduction of Shar (which is fine in individual campaigns) isn't going
to help flesh out all the aspects of the faith of the current gods.
Once you discover that you can't find any god to fill an area then I'd
look else where. I hope that made sense...

While there are gods that are over death, I think its a large enough
concept (and eventuality) that many of the Cerilian gods would have many
ways of looking at it. A good god could see it as evil and have
worshippers that approaches it that way. Another may see it as a
natural process of life. This goes for good, neutral, or evil gods. I
would take the different views of the worshippers for each god and form
a quasi-cult for each religion for their individual views of death. In
essence, make each god the god of death in their own unique way. There
would even be different views within each religion. That's probably how
I would approach any concept that one of the Cerilian gods doesn't
already claim. A faith such as Haelyn's which is quite fractured could
have in each of those churches a different view of a concept like
death. Perhaps one of those fractions gain enough power to make Haelyn
the death god (for example). He would just adopt that area as his own
since none hold it currently. I think it that regard, Pieter is right
and Nasri is well on her way to making death a part of her portfolio.
My two bits :)
