    In Europe the day is written before the month, it can not be helped that

    It is in Australia. We are a little ahead of the rest of the world down
    here....

    Actually it is because Australians, like almost everyone else in the
    world, puts the day before the month. We also have the metric system and
    other amazing things (like cricket!!!).

    Just to keep this completely unBirthright related thread going, you will
    all be happy to know that us Canuks in teh cold, cold north also use the
    dd/mm/yyyy method...if only to confuse or American neighbours :)

    Canada was well positioned to score for itself French cooking, English
    tradition, and American know-how. Instead, the somehow wound up with
    English cooking, American tradition, and French know-how. Can't win 'em
    all.
