Of course the GB earned from smuggling are deduced from the legitemate TRs
    profits!

I guess I don't see why the smuggling route would deduct from the others.
What is everyone's reasoning behind that?

Reason for the deduction is that there is only so much trade that a province
can support. According to at least one proposed modification you could still
max out legit trade routes and have smuggler routes on top of those. These
smuggler routes would reduce supply and demand for the legit ones therefore
decreasing profits. I like this application better than saying that you can
only have as many smuggler/legit trade routes as the province could normally
    support.

Also believe that any smuggler should run the risk of detection by the fleet
or armies that operate in their areas. Military movements aren't always
predictable (shouldn't be!) and they pose a risk to smugglers.

There are inherent risks in the business of upsetting partners to. Don't feel
like number crunching right now so I'll let others, if they want, set up
    tables for this.

Assume that you would need a guild at the receiving end to distribute the
goods. Or should I say a fence.

    Cheers,

    Steve
