Personally, I would just screw the guy over, not allowing him to cast
true magic (including wild magic). That is of course, because I hate
wild mages and find them extremely out of character in most fantasy
    settings.

    Question regarding Wild Mages

If a Wild Mage is transported to Aeberynis from Toril either by a spell
misshap or simply by walking, what happens to his magic?

Could he still cast Wild Magic and/or True Magic? If he could, would he be
regarded as an Awnshegh (Wild Magic equals unpredictible effects)?

If Ed or any of you can help me with these questions, please do.

I'm with you on the wild magic issue. Aside from that, I'm also with you on not
allowing a mage (or a bard for that matter) who came to Cerilia to cast "true"
magic. I'd like to fine tune the question, however. If such a person were
transported to Cerilia having "true" magic spells memorized, would he be unable
to cast those spells at all or could he just not rememorize them after casting?

In a similar manner, would a priest who came to Cerilia worhipping a god that is
not represented on Aebrynis be able to memorize new spells?

I'd rule that he can't even cast his memorized true magic spells. He
lacks the connection to mebhaighl that true mages have, and hence
can't draw enough energy to power true magic spells. Maybe he could
try, but channeling that much energy would probably burn him to
    cinders in an instant.
Hey, you've just given me an idea. We could have mages from other
worlds cast true magic (after all they know it), but since they can't
draw mebhaighl they have to channel the power trough their bodies.
This means the mage takes one point of damage *per spell level*. What
    do you think?

If there is a god with a similar portfolio, he could get spells from
that god. I think we can safely asume that gods with similar areas of
control residing on different worlds would work together insofar as
granting spells to each others followers *on the gods primary world
of interest*. That means a priest of Tyr from Toril who gets to
Cerilia could be granted spells by Haelyn.
If there isn't any god with a similar portfolio, the priest is out of
luck, unless he can get his diety interested in Cerilia, by gaining
followers for his god (which might bring about the wrath of the
cerilian faiths) or by something else.

I think I prefer something along these lines then making spellcasting
impossible. Especialy since I am using an outer planner mage at the
moment who is hiding in Cerilia for an angry tanari. Though I might make
it a bit more damaging then a mere 1 hp.

The official rule on this is that the priest will only recieve 1st and
2nd level spells until he is able to summon an avatar of his god and/or
gets enough followers fot the deity in question to make the jump to this
new crystal sphere. Even when the gods have simular portofolio's the
priest will not get spells. Offcoarse, in my opinion if the priest is
planning to stay longer it will be easier to change faith then it would
normaly. Since I also DM planescape now and then I am planning to use
    the official rules.

Depends on how you look at it and what world he/she came from really. For
instance the Forgotten Realms wizards draw their power from the Weave. If a
wizard is in another world does he/she have access to that weave or is the
access to it just so weak that he/she can only cast low level spells. Of
course in one of my own worlds a Taren Dark Mage pulls the energy from
around and within him (plant life, human and animal life), but does uses so
little he doesn't damage those around him. Ending up on Cerilia (which I
wouldn't wish on anyone in that world!) he would still have the same ability
and pulling from the mebhaighl would just make him/her more powerful.

Well in the case of this one I would say no! A priest must be able to pray
to his god and his god be able to hear him/her. Most dieties only have
access to one world and even then it would be like yelling at your friend
who is a thousand miles away. He/she isn't going to hear you! Well, unless
    you had a celular handy!

The only problem with that one is, that he/she would have to worship the new
diety or the new diety would have some sort of pact with the priests old
diety to allow him/her to cast spells. If not we are talking about a really
    quiet priest!
