No one, to my knowledge, has argued any source must dictate how you play the
game. But by the same token, I can't understand the arguement that just
because it was historical it can have no possible application in the game.
Any historical or literary example (and for my money neither one is more
compelling) is just a possible way to do things. There are times when its
better to just invent your own solutions.
