Hehehehe..
Actually the Rulebook is pretty clear in that the orcish race is not
represented in BR as published. They are mentioned nowhere in the books, and
are not listed in the back as being a monster appropriate for the setting, as
published. Also, the orog listing is completely seperated from its root in the
MM as being an Orc. I think they wanted to shy away from the preponderance of
the buggers that exist in so many other realms. Keep in mind that in BR,
Hobgoblins, Bugbears and Goblins are all variations of the same race, they are
all Goblins, just classed as Normal, Elite, and Huge. Of course, it's also
published that there's no reprecussion for stealing Azrai's blood, but I play
that way.

>Perhaps. I agree that Goblinoid culture (no orcs in Cerilia guys) is

Actually...
I think Birthright avoided orcs because it would too closely resemble a
certain computer game that started with "W" and ended with "arhammer".

hmmm I actually should think that orcs exist , but think
about a cool setting : a new race appears and settle itself
on the northern shores of rujik , and there you have it...
well this is all and well , but thinking about the fact
that the poor old jimbo's have no blood line they'll soon
be wiped out....
or maybe a poor gobo picks up bloodform and becomes The Ork
and he starts pulling guys from a extra dimensional
portal...
the next you thing you know is Waaaaaaghh....
my 3 pence and 1/2

I have not followed this discusion, so excuse me if I repeat other
persons. Why would you want orcs in the Birthright setting? The orogs,
who are rather prevalent on Cerilia (as my players in Meresaf can attest
to), are very simular to the orcs of the general setting. They are in my
opinion just somewhat more militaristic and their faith seems to be more
gloomy and death orientated, but that is purely based on the few things
that can be gotten from the Tribes of the Heartless Waste and Cities of
Sun boxed set. They can certainly be used for the same things as orcs.

I have a few orcs as slaves of the orogs which permit starting dwarves to
run about in the orog caves without having to contrive why endless orogs are
alone. The orogs themselves gather fungi, raise livestock, as well as
hunting and raiding. IMO, the
orcs mine for the mineral needs of orogs (its hard to take the stuff from
dwarves). They are also the poor saps who have to tunnel for the orogs.
Once the PC's get experienced enough to face 3HD creatures in quantity, I
more or less forget the orcs (the can figure in for continuity in
descriptions, but they disappear from most encounters).
