Core Rules v2.0
Dragon just published a preview of the new Core Rules v2.0 CD-ROM program. All
in all it looks VERY cool. Just one thing... if they want to make it well and
truly usable to all players, then it NEEDS to have a space, optional or no, for
Blood Abilities and Bloodlines! I'm just afraid that there's no time left in
the development process.
Ed, if you know anyone on the project, would you please drop them a hint. It's
real nice to be able to keep track of characters online, but it would nag on
the still semi-loyal BR crowd if we couldn't track those as well.
Later!

Am afraid you're right. If its not in the core books of AD&D (or Skills
and Powers), it won't be in the product is what I've heard. That cuts down
its usabilty for me. A priest of Haelyn is still going to be impossible to
give sword proficiencies to (if I'm understanding Core Rules 2 capabilities
right). From what I've learned, new classes or kits are impossible except
with the Players Options part of the disk. Bummer^2. If anyone finds out
differently, I hope they let us know. Till then, I don't see the reason to
upgrade from CoreRules except for the map making part.

I've got a copy of the CD-Rom 2 right here ... let me give this a try.
No problem! I just went through and created a priest (cleric, actually, but
I can make him a specialty priest later on in the program) and I selected
"Sword, long" as a weapon proficiency. It said, "This proficiency is not
allowed for your class. Would you like to purchase it anyway?" I said yes,
and it added it to my list. So, priests of Haelyn work (at least as far as
that's concerned--and I know you can enter in the spheres you want as well).

Core Rules v2.0
I also heard that they were including an already preped map of the REALMS.
Whats the chance that a map of BIRTHRIGHT is going to be included, or at
least attainable at a latter date. For myself, I think the Cerilia map would
be a lot more useful !

Personally, I agree with this. I mean, everyone and their virtual mother has,
or at least has access to, a map of the Realms. It is in my humble opinion
that the world does not need another one. Also, the map of Cerilia would most
definately be more useful, especially for those of us who only have the
piecemeal map in the RoE book!
