    Hola!

I just started a Birthright Campaign in my roleplaying group about four weeks
ago, and everything is going fine. But I ran into a little dilema.

One of my players is the King of Daikhar-Zhigun, and he wanted to invade the
southern-most provinces of Hjorig (the Rjurik nation east of Brechtur). Now, I
don't own the Rjurik Highlands Campaign Expansion, so when he invaded the
souther-most province I said he only encountered, like, two units of infantry
and a levy. But I don't want him to conquer ANYTHING that easily (he had,
like, six dwarven guards and three dwarven crossbows).

So, could someone who owns the Rjurik Highlands Campaign Expansion just tell
me what Hjorig's standing army is? Or, if they don't have one, could you give
me a general idea of Hjorig's power/wealth so I know how much of an army the
Jarl of that nation can muster? I'm hoping this isn't, like, illegal or
anything. All want is to know how big the standing army is (if any), or how
many GBs that Jarldom recieves a turn.

    Thanks in advance.

Well... There is one minor problem with that request... Hjorig is detailed in
Tribes of the Heartless Wastes, which I do not have...

Hjørig is ruled by Jarl Einar Kuppel and has a standing army of 2 units of
    infantry, 2 units of scouts
and 2 units of archers. This is the standard turn 1 setup of Hjørigs
standing army, if you do not want the
player to do this to easily, remember that Rjuviks can raise irregulars
    like others raise levies.

    Any other info needed?

Hjorig is described in the Tribes of the Heartless Wastes supplement. Hjorig
is run by a weak king (Jarl Einar Kuppel MRj;F7;Ba, major, 23;NE) who commands
an army of 2 infantry, 2 scouts and 2 archers. However, the Gnolls of the
Gnoll Fells control the southernmost two provinces, so your Dwarf would be
more likely to be fighting them. The Gnoll Fells command 6 Gnoll Marauders
and 2 Troll Legions. THAT could be a tougher challenge. It really looks to
me like you should pick up a copy of the TofHW.

    Good luck!
