I always assumed that the maintenece cost took care of things like
that and so I let the unit recover after each domainround.

Hit in a battle. How do you get that Infantry unit back to full strength? Do
you remuster it? Do you Disband it and Muster a new one? Would the cost be the

I can find no rulings on this in the books. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanx ahead of time.

I just say they are returned to full strength after a battle (within
reason, of course; an army going from one battle to another right after
the first one wouldn't be healed).

Also, check out the Book of Priestcraft - there is a cure unit battle
    spell in there.

    Cheers,

I have a question that should flow along with this idea. My PC ruler of
Rohrmarch, after repelling the Gorgon, has decided to implement a rule
where as the population of the nation when they turn 18 must serve for one
year in a militia to learn either military tactics or must learn the
healing arts. This is similar to what one of the awnsheigh (sp?) did, I
believe either the Siren or the Banshee (whoo!). Could this constitute a
new battle card, a unit of healers? When placed under another unit card,
this one a military unit, that card now has one or two extra hit points?
If the unit dies then both units die to keep it fair. Just an idea.
    Thoughts?

    Sincerely,
    T

I agree whole-heartedly. Not EVERY country gets any such "freebies" in
regards to their military units, so its a little imbalancing to the game to
have allowed them later, in the various campaign expansions. Anuire, in
particular, gets hit hard, BTW. Hopefully the BR revision that is supposed
to comeout next year will take care of that.

    To James Ray
What is this you have heard about a revision of Birthright that is
supposed to come out next year. Last I heard TSR had abandoned the
    game.
    Thanks

I didn't hear it got abandoned, but it might be going back to
birthright knowing there are so many that want to play it.

IMC they get healed one point of damage after 4 weeks (4 war moves or one
    action).
We disband our units not, because we use a experience system for warcards,
every unit that survived some battles (even barely ;-) gets better...

Well if someone was to include Conscription in their domain they of
course would have to PAY for it...After all a big army made that way is
mightely expensive, though of course it gives you the possiblity of
"levying" proper units (like Archers, E Inf, Knights, Pikemen etc.). I
assume you would have to pay the mustercost of the unit or some
prearranged sum every domain turn. Though I don't think it would fit the
campaign really. On the other hand the history of Norway tells that
around 1500-1600 Denmark (which ruled Norway) called almost every 18-22
years old to the navy in Denmark. The peasants in Norway of course
didn't like this all that much, but since the time was plagued by
constant wars, they just had to endure. The figure we are talking about
is like 800-2000 (varying greatly) every year, many of these young men
did not come back but stayed in Denmark.

Not to mention a lil excessive LOL I always thought that the commoners,
who would make up the bulk of the conscripts, just paid the taxes that
financed their lords' wars. Who would draft a bunch of commoners, train
them to use weapons and lead men in combat? Good heavens....what if they
rebelled sometime? They might be able to WIN.

    >Next, we'll be seeing griffins carrying mustard gas canisters. *grin*>

As long as we dont see gas maks coming into wide spread usage...
can see players following Dragons around the campaign world, trying to get
Green Dragons to breath into wine skins etc LOL hmm - maybe something
similar to Napalm, given the nature of Cerilia's Dragons...
