Ahha! You forgot that elven realms can muster elven units for 1/2 the
list cost! Same as goblin realms mustering goblin units, dwarven realms
mustering dwarven units, and Gorgon raising anything. ;)

Elves aught to have a higher percentage of war-ready folks, but their
individual powerhouses should not quite match the most powerful humans
    around. What's illogical about that?

    >All right, that is a reasonable rule. Although if your going to give the

Excellent point...but in general I think there should be 3 classifications
of war-readiness for the races: "average" (humans), "semi-warlike"
(elves/dwarves), and "warlike" (golblins, orogs, etc.). The other two
classifications would have cheaper ways to get units activated (using the
standard means of "militia" in the rulebook), and should have higher
numbers of "max troops per province" than the "average" races. However,
    since I've only DM'd one non-human realm (Baruk-Azik), I only have "rules"
for the semi-warlike in mind. The others just have as many troops as I
    need them to :)

    >>Truce. As in, no more total war. After Deismar, you know, the truce?

    >their ass kicked?

Hehe, I'm just saying the humans stopped going after the elves because they
made the correct choice in Deismar. Now, there is not enough solidarity
among the human realms to do anything remotely approaching an attack on the
elven realms. The humans in general are not afraid of an elven realm
completely wiping them off the face of the map, whereas they ARE afraid one
of their human neighbors might do such a thing.

    >buy the caricature of "elves are ______ who never get around to doing

Well, that explains your position then. I guess there is no point to
arguing it anymore. I refuse to buy the notion that an elf can accomplish
more than a human can in a lifetime. They just spread it out more...

Giving elves (as a rule) the fire of humans for self-improvement, AND their
(Birthright) immortality is going a bit too far. In that case, they should
not be allowed to be PC races, as they are too powerful. If they are an
NPC race, then by all means, munchkin away.
