hehehe.... full sympathy here. I just bought the PH and the GG. It's
certainly an interesting system, and Bill and Rich both did a great job (at
least we know why Rich hasn't posted here in an age... )
Let's see here. AD&D. Yup it's old, sure it's clunky. There's dozens of
situations that aren't consistent (e.g. - "okay, I need to roll high on
this one right? Now this negative is a bonus and that positive is too, but
//that// positive is a penalty?")
But I've been playing this game since it came out and I still love it. I
know there's tons of systems out there that are more realistic or better
formatted, but for some reason I just keep coming back to THE game. And
I'm sorry to say it, but this is the most successful RPG of all time. I
tell outsiders I play RPGs, and have to clarify with "you know, like D&D?"
before they get it. oh well.....
