    That is an interesting take on the Elven attitude. I always felt that the
    Elves did indeed recognize the existence of the beings known as gods, they
    just didn't feel that they were GODS (omniscient, omnipotent, worthy of
    whorship).
    I do not see how the elves could not acknowledge the existence of these
    beings with the evidence of human clerical spellcasters. I also believe
    that the elves will have made contact with the gods through their magical
    (wizardly) experimentation and plane traveling.

    not really. they followed azrai there in the first place, after all ;) the
    sidhelien are agnostic, not atheists. says something in the tuarhievel
    sourcebook about how they accept that the gods exist but will never have
    anything to do with them again (after the azrai fiasco). individual elves
    _can_ be religious in a human sense, but their communities never will.
    hence the lack of temple holdings.
