Me and my gaming group are going to play 3 regents in the nations of
Sielwode , Baruk-Azhik and Coeranys . We were able to find Baruk-Azhik at
our local store but neither Sielwode nor Coeranys . With the campaign
setting we can still play in Coeranys but sielwode's information is lacking
in the base book . My question is , what are Sielwode's holding levels and
by whom are they controlled .

I would suggest either using the Domain Design Aooendix in the VERY back of
the Rulebook (so that your player can make his own unique Sielwode) or just
making it up yourself, because I dont think there was ever any information
specific to the Sielwode put out on the market.

You could always use the data they put in the Gorgon's Alliance computer
game. IIRC, the Sielwode had full law and source holdings (ie. all at
max) belonging to Isaelie, and an army of two units of elven cavalry and
    four units of elven archers.

Whoever decied not to put holding levels in the Ruins of Empire book for
some realms was an idiot. It says they are not listed becasue humans
know little of them. Fine with me but the only person supposed to be
looking at that book is the DM, and the DM knows all (exept what is in
his pllayers minds), sees all, and controls about everything (exept
dice, which he must modify or override from time to time).
    How dumb is that?

Yeah! That bugged me too! I think that also happened in the Brechtur campaign
expansion, with the domain of Wolfgaard, but I could be wrong. I mean, sure,
if the book was printed for players to read I can understand not giving them
information, but come on, we're the Dungeon Masters and we *need* to know!

Another problem I have with the Ruins of Empire boxed set is that not
everything is described the same way. Some domains have descriptions of the
guilds located within their borders, while other (such as Ilien), do not. Some
describe trade routes and major cities, some do not.

But all in all, I'm not gonna turn this message into a rant n' rave. I'm just
very, very happy that the second edition of Birthright is coming out in July.
Hopefully, now that the editors and writers have had more experience, we'll
know what the Law Holdings of the Sielwode is. =)

All there is, is included in _Ruins of Empire_. However, the Tuarheivel book
would be useful to decipher elven culture and noble houses. Also, check out
the stuff on Rhoubhe in Blood Enemies. Why? Because Isaellie and Rhoubhe, I
believe, were coming close to alliance...

Okay, then get ready to be unhappy. 2nd Ed. Birthright until at least Summer
1999!!! And if you're as unhappy about it as I am, I recommend sending them
    snail-mail to let them know!

Unfortunately, the information on the web site has not been updated. As of a
couple months ago, Ed Stark was kind enough to send us a copy of a press release
that says the BR line is being pushed back until after the new year. I don't
think it'll be next summer, but January at least. This is a major bummer, but at
least the line isn't being killed. I'm also glad that Ed gave us the word
himself, instead of letting us hear it as a rumor. Apparently, the reason for
pushing the line back is incorporation of an "exciting new format." No one seems
to know what that means, let alone whether it is a good thing. But, I'm
    maintaining my hope.
