    various stuff

    Ok..just one question....why aren't gnomes pc's?
....they are at the back of the rulebook under monsters (page 89).
I personally think that gnomes would most likely have carved out a
domain for themselves (especially if the halflings did).
Also is it really necessary to have a guild to open a trade route?
for example.. mages can do it with source of 7(page 82) so why can't
province rulers who don't have a guild?

Woo, you opened a can of worms with that one. There's quite a few people
on this list who are vociferous in their dislike of gnomes in BR. Someone
a while back, though, had an interesting idea. He came up with the idea of
gnomes as for "monsterous" than in, say, Dragonlance. Basically, just as
dwarves were created out of stone, the gnomes were created out of wood.
Thus they live deep in forests, carving out homes beneath the roots of
trees, and are intensely private, almost always running from man and other
interlopers in their territory unless they feel threatened, in which case
they attack in mass to defend their homes (and seldom allow any to escape
to bring word of their home to others).
