I`m curious as to what others think about
incorporating some of the bloodline rules from Unearth
Arcana, over and on top of whatever other blood
abilities and so forth your house rules deem
appropriate...
I kind of think the mechanics fit thematically with
Birthright, as far as taking Bloodline levels
increasing your caster level and level-dependant class
abilities. They give you feats and minor skill
bonuses. I think perhaps the "Affinity" should be
replaced with an environment type rather than a
creature type to represent deities associated with
seas, storms, forests, shadows, etc.
Any thoughts?

There was quite a lively discussion on this subject earlier. Here is the link to the thread:

I think the system presented looks like it`d work just fine. Personally,
I`m a little leery in that it seems to have a rather dramatic scaling issue
involved with major and then great blood abilities and effects, but most
people probably wouldn`t notice that if using relatively few awnshegh
characters. When it gets right down to it, however, I don`t know if it is
a particularly better method than others that have been suggested, so as
far as "Rule X" is concerned one could use a character class or this
bloodline system to do pretty nearly the same thing.
One thing the UA bloodline system method of portraying awnshegh does seem
not to capture that a character class does better is that the speed of
transformation doesn`t necessarily have anything to do with the factors
that are used. That is, there are awnshegh with true bloodlines and great
bloodtrait who are less transformed over time than other awnshegh who have
lower bloodlines and maybe not that blood ability at all. The
transformation of awnshegh need not necessarily have anything to do with
character levels as depicted by such a system. As a character class one
can control the speed of transformation in a way that is still tied to all
the aspects of a character like ECL but in a way that might not require a
character have associated levels in another class. That`s a fairly nuanced
aspect of the original awnshegh concept, however, and most folks seem less
worried about it than I am.
There are a couple of other things about the proposed UA interpretation of
awnshegh that I`m a little leery of. I`m not sure the LA values, for
instance, really balance very well, but I`d have to take a better look at
it to say for sure. On the whole, the proposal is rather rough so it shows
a lot of promise as an early draft.

Thanks for the link, Irdeggman.
If "the Falcon" has done any more bloodlines, I`d
appreciate having them sent to me or posted. Thanks.
Rather than come up with a fixed bloodline system, I`m
trying to transpose bloodlines into various aspects of
3e, so I`m kind of thinking I can take these onto
bloodline classes and feats, as well.
I especially enjoyed Irdeggman`s comment as to
different aspects of blood abilities that an Anduiras
bloodline could focus on, and if you have any
suggestions for different bloodlines as well, that`d
be a help. It`s kind of hard going through all the
material and trying to find themes for different
bloodlines since its not all in one place.

Gary,
I think you are interposing two different, albeit related, ideas here.
The question that was asked is the one about generally using the UA bloodlines as a mechanic for BR bloodlines/abilities.
the one you are answereing, or seem to be, is the one on awnshegh progression using the UA bloodlines as a base. The awnshegh application is specifically designed to work with the BRCS and not be independent (although it could easily work with other mechanics, IMO).
The 'original' question was, I think, best refocused to Ming I's thread on the same topic, while the latter was basically contained within the thread on the BRCS.
