An Awnsheghlien generally has the blood ability Bloodform which results
in their change of form. Just taking a quick flip through the blood
enemies book you will see that most of the awnsheghlien mentioned there
will have bloodform, except for a couple like the harpy, hydra, karken,
and a couple of others. The ones that don't however are usually special
case where either monsters (kraken) or powerful animals (hydra) have
    gain a bloodline.
Anyone with a bloodline of Azrai would be in danger of becoming an
Awnsheghlien though, especially if they run around doing evil acts. The
bloodline is tainted and those who are cursed by it are also tainted,
special individuals may lead a normal life though.

    [BIRTHRIGHT] Azrai blood and PC

    well, in order..

    1. you roll for their strength and abilities as you would if they had any
    other derivation. ;)

    2. an awnshegh has a specific blood ability from the blood enemies book,
bloodform. as a major ability, the awnshegh is still a humanoid (ie
rhuobhe, the siren), and as a great ability it's a monster (ie almost
everyone else:) bloodform does not exist as a minor ability, so if your pc
rolls azrai with a low to medium blood strength, the odds are that they
    would not have bloodform anyway.

    3. azrai scions always have to watch their behavior, but it's up to the
individual dm to decide the fate of a given scion. bloodtheft doesn't
officially change this (unless your scion's strength goes up and they pick
up bloodform), but there are extra rules in blood enemies and legends of
the hero kings (as well as somewhere online) that might be useful.

    4. a good pc can have azrai's blood and live a normal life, yes. even a
good character with bloodform is at little risk, because bloodform changes
the body to match the mind, and the awnshegh generally have evil minds to
match their evil bodies. just remember that power corrupts. :)

depends on the DM - some don't like PC's with Azrai's blood. Other's let
it lead to a great game. nothing special happens, just a different
variety of blood abilities available to the PC

    > What
    >is

to become an awnsheilien - you need the blood ability BloodForm (i
think). it's in the Blood Enemies, abominations of cerilia - source book.
if you can get your hands on it, i think it's actually one of the best
    resource books :)

see above, but my answer would be no - unless he had the ability
    Bloodform

    >Can a good PC have Azrai blood and still lead a normal
    >life?

sure, but it's gonna be harder. Look at the paladin of haelyn - the one
from the boxed set. He is Lawful Good, with a deriviation of Azrai. (i
don't know his name off the top of my head, and i don't feel like getting
    up right now :)

    hope this helps

Some, but by no means all, DM's play that the different bloodlines have a
kind of "natural tendency" that slightly flavors the person's perspective.
Scions of Masela's bloodline are drawn to water, those of Andurias are
highly aware of their personal honor, those of Basaia have the tendencies
to be very logical and intellectual, those of Brenna tend to think in
terms of money or the "scales of fate," those of Reynir to be drawn to
wild places and the outdoors, and those of Vorynn are mercurial, and
tend to be loners. And those of Azrai to always see the selfish, the easy
way out. These aren't strong forces, but rather "back of the mind" kind of
tendencies. They can be fought easily, but they're always there, always
flavoring the person's perspective. Thus, a good person with a Azrai
bloodline can certainly exist, but it does require a certain amount of
diligence. I role-play this by occasionally pointing out the player how
much easier it would be to just kill this NPC, that he could get all this
money just by killing that person, that wouldn't it be great to have that
magical item that this person owns.

Other than that, there's nothing special about a PC with an Azrai
bloodline (although if it becomes common knowledge that the PC's bloodline
is of the Azrai derivation people may find it difficult to trust the PC,
always expecting her to turn on them).
