Good point... why would Rhoubhe keep it? Not to mention the above, but it
would have to be a magnet for humans...might as well put sugar on your hand
and stick it in a fireant mound...
Of course, he could take the tact of finding a way, some way of using it as
bait and lead some armies to war. I mean, Tuornen is always a hotspot
anyway... why not watch a bunch of human armies go to war over it. That
would certainly spur on Alamie to attack, Darien to force someone's hand,
quite possibly with armies. If Rhoubhe timed it right, he could lead these
armies half way across Anuire. Make a regular swatch of destruction, and
all that. Sow all kinds of seeds of dissent, maybe make a few fakes of the
sword, and put them in opposing armies hands, and announce he doesn't have
it anymore. After a season of two of watching several thousand humans die
at that, announce that one of the countries gave it back to him for
safekeeping, (which can't possibly help their diplomatic affairs) and go on
another stroll. And of course, with all that war, it's obviously a good
time for the Gorgon to maybe see the newest trees of the Sielwode and
Tuarhievel, just to really tick every race on the planet off--quite
possibly at the PC's who Rhoubhe would no doubt laud for their commendable
gift. :)

If I was Ruobhe, I might either give it back to them (because I don't want
avanil, boeruine, etc. unifying for the sole purpose of kicking my ass!) or
I might keep it a secret and sell it to the 3ed most powerful anuirean
faction (Ghoere) to create more political chaos in Anuire.

Sword of roele and Manslayer
we'll technically The sword of Roele is a Dwarven artifact while they made it
anyhow come to think of it I'd Say the dwarves whould have a intrest in it "To
make sure THEIR gifts are only given to the worthy" (plus it whouldn't hurt
them to have so much political power.) any power whould won't it weather or
not they wanted the throne cause then they could pick a puppet ruler.

Kyle, thats absolutely evil! I love it! But then, I have also been
accused of being a massochist and I love any plot that sends old Stony
rampagin across the land.
I've not read the Sword of Reole adventure (if that's where this is coming
from), but that whole plotline that everyone has expounded upon sounds like
allot of fun.
On the issue of the Manslayer's uses for the item, who says he even has to
really have it? Perhaps just the rumor of it, with enough "credible"
witnesses and sources would be enough. Rumors and Red Herrings are allway
lots of fun, especially when some of the players seem to be deluded into
the opinion that whatever the DM tells them is true (?)

Certainly a valid point. Rhoubhe's been around for over 1,000 years and has
become a master of more skills than Avan and Boeruine put together.
