Hi all,

Well, the Online City Project mailing list has really been burnin' rubber
in the last few days. Some discussions have started on various aspects of
the city, such as time, currency, climate, guild organisation, magic,
harbour,... and a few others as well.

Some very very good ideas are getting in there, and it's really great to
see the ideas come together. Anyone who wishes to join the list, and
provide comments (without being on a design team) is quite welcome to do so
(see below for details). However, I do ask that you contribute, and don't
sit back and just read what other are saying. Some great and fantastic
ideas are coming about simply by the "feeding-frenzy" of ideas, and people
building on other people's ideas, etc.

The first projects are getting ready to roll off the production lines, in a
week or so. If anyone is a keen writer, and would like to help out as an
'editor/writer', contact me. You would basically be in charge of writing up
the final submissions to be displayed on the homepage. A short paragraph of
fiction as an introduction to each submission would probably not hurt
either. Obviously you will have to have good english skills, so make sure
there are no spelling mistakes in your email!!!! I know it's not exactly a
glamour job, but it does need to be done.

If you have any specific ideas of your own, send a brief outline of them to
the steering committee member of the relevant group, and they will help you
in getting your idea in this project.

Also, the guilds group does need some more contributors. If you like the
underworld/shady side of things, or the merchantile/business side of
things, then please contact Scott Koester (muaddib+@osu.edu) and he will
let you know how you can help.

To join the OCP mailing list:

send an email to brocp-request@mpgn.com with 'subscribe' in the header. You
can read back issueas of the digest in the archive at
ftp.mpgn.com/Gaming/ADND/Worlds/BirthRight/OnlineCityProject/MailingListArch
ive/

Lastly, I'd just like to take this opportunity to congratulate the 5
members of the steering committee on the really good job they have been
doing. They are doing a fantastic job, and the fruits of their labour are
now starting to show in the excited discussions on the OCP mailing list.
Keep up the great work guys!

Cheers everyone. As usual, of you have any queries about the project, or
would like to get involved but aren't sure how you can help, then mail me
and we can sort something out.

Simon
