Cerilian domain in Ravenloft
Has anyone done any work in fleshing out the Cerilian domain
described in the Ravenloft book Domains of Dread?
I have started working on it, but wanted to know if someone
else has something. This may have been covered on the
mailing list before.

Cerilian domain in Ravenloft
In my opinion, the original Ravenloft domain, that of Barovia, is from
somewhere in Brechtür. It all makes sense.

I have to disagree with you here. Count Strahd von Zarovich and the
domain of Barovia are from places unknown and unspoken of. While I don't have
the Boxed Set for Birthright, since I'm a player, Strahd's family was driven
out by a group called the Tergs. After a few decades of warfare, Strahd and
his legions drove the Tergs back through the mountain passes from which they
had come. I haven't heard any reference of the Tergs and there would have to
be a place called Castle Ravenloft currently existing.
On another point, there is already a Ravenloft module out that can take
the players to the original Barovia where Count von Zarovich is from, and
there is a family line still there and there are no bloodlines.
I don't mean to burst your bubble, but as an avid fan of both RAVENLOFT
and BIRTHRIGHT, I have to nix that thought in the bud.

Cerilian domain in Ravenloft
In a message dated 98-04-15 16:12:42 EDT, Dave Keyser writes:
The Domain of Vorostokov is featured in the $9.95 (U.S.) Ravenloft module
"Dark of the Moon" and is described as a vast domain more than 300 miles
across consisting of icy plains and coniferous (whatever that means) forests
with many small lakes and rivers scattered about.
It mentions more, but the rest of the terrain has probably been altered
due to Gregor Zolnik's imprisonment and curse.
In the village of Vorostokov (there is a village of the same name in the
domain, like New York, New York) there are wooden houses and fences and the
"roads" in the villages are made up of logs, with a dirt road leading away
from the village. If you have a friend that owns the module, I would ask to
borrow it; however $10+tax isn't that bad to pay for it, you'd just have to
make sure you modified certain things to fit within Birthright (such as not
making the border made up of impassable mountains in a 360 degree circle -
that's a Ravenloft addition there). If you'd like more, send a private e-mail
and I'll try to get you more info on it.
Take care all,
Kirby

Hmmm, I once worked out an isle, which surfaced in the middle of the
Great Bay. This is a part of the Shadow World reappearing every 77 years
for three months. The regent of this domain is a dracolich who tried to
get a foothold in Cerilia to maintain a portal to the Shadow World, so he
had to conquer any province containing a source.
I made a couple of warcards for this occation.
