In one campaign I'm running Mesire - and have the 1st & 2nd Djiran
Lancers (so named for their part in my campaign of viciously razing to
the ground any Black Spear Tribes holdings within two provinces of
Mesire ;). My bog standard units aren't going to be named until they
actually come within spitting distance of a battle.

Yup.

Err. Yeah. After two increases the maintenance cost rises by one. Units
keep their bonuses until destroyed.
