    Djapar Expansion (long)

We will have to compare notes; I have been working on Djaparas a part of an
Aebrynis wide PBeM (Destiny of Regents) and have drawn heavily on The Al-Qadim
    setting for ideas.

The chief god of the Al-Qadim setting had 7 (gee what a coincidence) Disciples for
lack of a better word - or maybe saints - anyway one went bad and developed a dark
following that tried to overthrow the land but was eventually defeated.

As saints/Disciples these 7 gained a divine spark and their descendents retain a
    trace of this spark.
The 7 saints roughly correspond with the 7 gods of Cerilia and their descendants
have the equivalent of bloodlines though only a very FEW have more than a Tainted
line due to the time that has passed.
I have fully detailed the north/western section of the continent which holds the
land of Djapar - which in this version occupies about one third of ther land mass.

Anyway let me know if you'd be interested in seeing my information - maybe we
    could help each other out

    Djapar Expansion (long)

    That would be me :)
I'm subscribed to the BR list at lordshade@geocities.com, but you can also
email me (for whatever reason) at akash@mail.utexas.edu.

I think that I will populate Djapar with cultures akin to those found in East
Asia, including the Middle East. This is similar to Cerilia in that European
cultures are found there, or Aduria (according to Darkstar) which is
    populated by
    African/Mediterranean cultures. Here is a breakdown -

    Djapar

Basarji - Middle Eastern (I'll have this culture here too, as the Khinasi
originally migrated from Djapar, and called themselves the Basarji at one
point in time...these will be the ancestors of the Khinasi)
An Egyptian culture (I may or may not keep this)
    A Persian/North Indian culture
    A South Indian culture
    A Mongolian/Asian Steppes culture
    A Chinese culture
    A Japanese culture

This would make seven human races native to Djapar, six of them new.

I haven't given much thought to the nonhuman races yet, but I know I will have
goblins and dwarves for sure. I'm thinking of also having a race of sea elves,
and perhaps two or three unique races (not sure what these will be
    either..maybe
    the jann?).

As for already published material, I was planning on keeping Djapar similar to
the TSR published material for Cerilia in terms of regent levels, kingdom
    sizes,
magical abundance and abundance of bloodlines. The only problem with this
    is to
find a justification for having a relatively large number of bloodlines in
    Djapar.
If anyone recalls, I sent a message to the list about bloodlines in Djapar
    some time
    ago.

Reason for this being, I love Cerilia how it is. I think it a beautifully
    designed
world, excellent for the type of game it is designed to be played in. I
    want to play
the same game, but I would like to be able to play it in a different
cultural atmosphere. That is why I'm working on this expansion. We have
    Europe already, Darkstar
has provided Africa and the Mediterranean for us, and now we will have Asia.

I was planning on using some of the material from Arabian Adventures
    (including the
genies) for the Basarji and Persian/North Indian areas. I was also planning
    to make
use of the Ninja's handbook primarily for the Japanese (and maybe Chinese)
    areas. I
think the clan material in the Ninja's handbook would fit right in to the
    politically
    inclined setup of Birthright.

I've been doing research on the real world cultures between AD 800 and
    1500. I'm
working on the Persian/North Indian or Japanese areas first, as those
are the ones I have the most ideas for. I'm not going to do anything for
    the Basarji
area until I get my hands on the Cities of the Sun expansion.

Just yesterday I saw the BR Timeline on the TSR webpage (thank you _VERY_
    much TSR!!!)
and I'm going to base events in Djapar on that timeline, which I think is
    the official
material. I think for the most part, I will be using Darkstar's Adurian
expansion (perhaps with a few minor changes) to represent my view of Aduria
    in the Djapar
expansion. Naturally, everything in Cerilia will stay as laid out by the
    TSR developers.

If everything goes as planned, BR players will be able to run a campaign in
    any kind
of real world culture between the official Cerilia sets, Darkstar's Adurian
    expansion,
and this Djapar expansion...Except for North and South America.

I would recommend finding and reading some of the Al-Quadim materials
published by TSR. This was a very good setting and was very good a providing
    a feel for a middle/near eastern setting.

    Djapar Expansion (long)

This may sound wheird but...wouldn´t it be an idea to make the Japanese
culture one of Goblins? (inspired in the picture on Player secrets of
    Roesone)

    Just a silly thought.
