    Regent Combos

Hey there all! I have a funny situation, and I'm not sure exactly how
    to deal with it.

The two "main" ways I have seen to create a campaign is by either
setting all the characters up as regents of different nations, or
letting one of them take the reigns and have the rest be a court. OK.
Here's the deal. My players are a court of equals, much like the circle
that rules the Chimaeron states. I had an opening adventure to introduce
them to the world, where (they chose Roesone..) Marlae had run off, and
they found her, and it was a huge conspiracy I won't get into. Now, they
are the new rulers. All of them, as opposed to one with a court.

Problem. They are thinking about gaining regency seperately, as
opposed to as a pool. This means that they all have to control different
holdings to give them regency. Since they are all different character
types, they have to control different holding types.

Answer...? Do I split up a few of the other holdings in Roesone and
dole them out? Does Orthien Tain never own holdings in parts of Roesone
because they had always been controlled by the throne? Hmmm... that
makes the realm of Roesone VERY powerful.

I have given them too much freedom to create their lands. How can I
solve this problem? Upscale all the holding levels of everyone else to
match Roesone? Leave Roesone a bit more powerful? Give the court a few
    sever penalties??

    HELP!!

I kinda like the idea of letting them split up all the holdings... IIRC
Roesone doesn't have that many to start off (i don't have my book w/me
right now, and i don't feel like getting it) just a couple law holdings,
no sources, no guilds, and /maybe/ one or 2 temples. splitting it up
would give each player about 5 RP's a turn when it's all said and done
    :-)

    hope this helps,
    Erik

Sandsinger: Not completely true, they can all gain regency from
    provinces.

Sandsinger: Yes it does over power Roesone. Don't spilt up other
regents holdings, tell them that if they want these other holdings they
need to take on the domains and rule them seperately.

I have given them too much freedom to create their lands. How can I

Sandsinger: You could eigther just divide the regency of roesone up
equaly ignoring the rules about regency and classes or with an intricate
system of vasselage. (though I'd probly stay away from that.) Your
other option is to allow them to each have one holding that directly
coresponds with their class (preferably in an empty spot) and evenly
divide up the province regency. This does leave the fighter (if you
only have one) with a bit more power, but that makes sense. I hope this
    helps a little.

    - -Sandsinger, "If that's food for thought, I'm not eating it!"

My campaign originally had the PCs controlling overlapping domains. The
    guilder
had holdings in all three of the landed regents domains, the mage (Ilien) had
sources in Roesone, etc. However, a lot of my PCs have dropped their regent
characters in favor of scions, so now they're all lieutenants to Roesone.

I think you should set up adventures that have each PC wresting parts of other
domains away from their rulers. You could set it up as a 'great captain' event
for the NPC ruler in question. For instance, the thief PC could rise up and
take away some of Orthien Tane's holdings in Roesone. The regent of IHH could
die from natural causes and the PC priest is selected to step up and take his
    place...etc, etc.
