Hmmm... well..... I'd say Legends of the Hero Kings could well be
worth checking out, if you can find it. King of the Giantdowns is
excellent, although I'm not sure that it really counts as an
adventure. A truckload of background with some adventure seeds thrown
    in, yes.

As for the others.... I can speak from experience of Warlock of the
Stonecrowns and the Sword of Roele. Personally, I wasn't particularly
impressed by either (sorry guys!). Warlock is definitely the better
of the two, as it has more background info, some neat ideas (shadow
paths and whatnot) and suffers far less from
    "weirdly-named-adnd-monster-bash-through-the-Castle-of-Ultimate-Doom"
syndrome. Sword is a cracking idea (searching for the sword of the
last emperor, as if the title isn't a clue ;-) but falls far short of
what it could have been. A plane-hopping monkey, carnivorous apes and
a ruin packed with random monsters from the MC just don't quite cut
it in my opinion. With barely a flick of a GMs wrist it could be set
in FR, Greyhawk or almost any other fantasy milieu you can shake a
wizard's staff at, and it would just be acceptable. As Birthright
material goes, well...... If you're thinking about one of the two,
I'd plump for Warlock every time. It ain't a classic, but it's a
    sight better than Sword.

Or I could be alone in thinking that, of course. :-)

    My 2GBs.

"Once I was a lamb, playing in a green field. Then
the wolves came. Now I am an eagle and I fly in a
    different universe."
"And now you kill the lambs," whispered Dardalion.
"No, priest. No one pays for lambs."

    Hello,
I'd like people's opinions on various modules available for Birthright
(Warlock of the Stonecrowns, etc.) Which ones are worth getting, and which
    ones are not?

I've only a little experience with the modules. They are ok, but none stand
out as particularly good. (Warlock of the Stonecrowns, for example, has some
aspects of BR that make it well suited, but also has non-BR stuff, such as the
infamous reference to Drow). Probably the best adventure was Seeking
Bloodsilver, which is in Dungeon Magazine #59. Although it isn't a published
module, it does a better job of representing the setting. Another good place
to look is Legends of the Hero Kings, which is a book full of adventures for
    Birthright.

I would definitely purchase Legends of the Hero-Kings as that one is the most
useful and flexible one I have seen. I also purchase Sword and Crown and
Warlock of the StoneCrowns. I liked Warlock, and think it's pretty good and
in a very BR-like format. I haven't played Sword and Crown, yet. I mostly
purchased it for a specific map I knew was inside ( evil grin). But I won't
way what, as that might spoil the adventure for some.

The BR adventure models aren't all that good. Warlock is ok if you're
playing near the Stonecrowns (I'm running a campaign centered on
Dhoesone). Sword of Roele definately features too much magic for BR.
Legends of the Hero Kings is a mixed blessing. Some of the adventures
are ok, others seemed a bit whacky to me. I especially liked "Double
Dealings", even if the story is a bit far fetched. My players didn't
like it, though ... I made on of them the target of the kidnapping,
hehe. That Volstead guy makes a great villain (I told you I like the
    Vos!).

I have lots of one shot items, espcially the minor potions. I allow lower
level spell casting types, including non-adventurers, to produce certain
under-powered potions (a healing salve that restores d3 hp's for instance).

My favorite special weapons offer bonuses to initiative (speed 0), but have
    no other advantages.

Permenant magical items are rare, hard to come by, dearly treasured.

I used potions, wands and yes I used plenty of weapons of Quality like you
    describe
Scrolls could be useful too. The elven made silver battle axe of quality (+1
    to hit)
I gave out was very poplular!

    strength than the +1 weapon.
They are working fine...Wands and scrolls I haven't used that much ... (My
    Mage character started with
a Wand if Magic Missile (7 charges :) though). And of course thank you all
    for the ideas for books...
