I have long been a fan of the psionicist class...I have been wondering, are
there any psionicists or any individuals with psionic powers anywhere in
Aebrynis?

I know it says in the basic BR rulebook that "psionics are not suited to the
feel of Cerilia" or somesuch and goes on to say that they officially do not
exist, although individual DMs may use them in their own campaigns, and
reminds
them to create psionic villains and whatnot for a psionic PC to confront.

I was wondering if there is ANY precedent or evidence for the existence of
psionicists in Birthright. I was also thinking of ways to justify the
existence
of psionicists (why some people have such powers and some don't) and how a
psionicist regent collects regency.

This is an idea I came up with -

Only rare individuals with Vorynn's bloodline can acquire a blood ability of
great strength called "psionic potential." Psionic potential enables an
individual to have the Psionicist class. I was thinking that the psionic
potential blood ability should let a character have a wild talent, but I'm not
sure how to adjucate this in conjunction with the class itself.

As to the issue of regency, I am a bit baffled. Psionicists' power comes from
inside, not from external sources. A wizard's power comes from ambient magical
energy (sources). A priest's power comes from his god, and his god's power
comes from how many worshippers he has (temples).

I was thinking that maybe a psi could collect regency from guilds. My only
reason for this is that the psionicist resembles the thief more than any other
class. My other idea was that a psi could get regency from law, as law is a
measure of how people think, and thinking is important to psionicists (as you
can see, my reasoning is on very shaky ground :)

Perhaps they could get half regency from both, or something.

All ideas and comments welcome :)
