The campaign which I'm about to start consists of

    Dwarf fighter/priest (Baruk-Azhik)
    Anuirean ranger (Coeranys)
Anuirean priest of Cuiraecen (Church of Storm's Height)
    Brecht thief (Elamien Lamier's guilds)

I've never DM'ed Birthright before, and played very little so I had some
    questions along the
lines of a recent thread. Where do these empires tend to go? Do a lot
of campaigns end with someone claiming the Iron Throne?

While I don't see these guys attacking each other, I do want to encourage
them to cooperate. I was thinking of doing this by presenting them with
major threats in the region (Osoerde, Sielwode, the Chimaeron).

As for adventure hooks, there are always the orogs, weddings, diplomatic
functions, etc.... but I don't really have any goal for the campaign yet.

I was wondering how some of you have structured your campaigns, and how
    they've developed.

    Shade,
Sounds like a good mix already. To be honest, in my limited time in DMing
BR, I have gone with the simple goal of letting the players go where they want.
If they end up trying to band together to take the Iron Throne, so be it. I will,
of course, put plenty of obsticles in their way (after all, I, for one, do not believe
this should be a simple project), and let their efforts take them where it would
seem most logical. In general, they enjoy playing without the pressure of
trying to rule the world so I let them. I don't force the Gorgon down their
throats (why would he notice a small, though well organized, nation far away).
But they do have a minor Awnsheghlien to battle and quest to destroy. My
players enjoy the adventure still, as well as the diplomacy. Realm actions
and intrigues are a role-playing tool to add to the flavor, depth, and spice of
the game. Two years might go by, at one stage, without an adventure, but
the domain turns and actions will foreshadow, hint, and eventually lead up
to some grand adventure. Others, I am sure, use the system as more of
    a conquest type game...
In the end, the game offers so many variables, it is best left in the hands
of you and your players. Start slowly, and find out what you enjoy doing
the most, as well as your players, and go from there =)

Just my 2 GB from a dwindling treasury...

This sounds like a good mix to me. Looking for someone to play a Mage?

Well, maybe. If one more person wants to join I may suggest that he/she play
a wizard, so I can hand out the TBM source domain. But I rarely try to force a
certain character on my PCs... in this case, I told them to tell me what race
and class they wanted first, and then I would assign domains depending on how
the mix came out. (They all wanted to be regents)

There are still several options left for me in the region. If worst comes to
worst, I can develop a couple domains east of BA to be whatever would suit the
character (I don't have Khinasi or Brecht expansions).
