Vow. Your letter goes to my "saved messages" box :-)
Yes, the neutral powers would certainly help the PCs. This Aasimon is a
    threat to the balance.

    Plot?-Upper planes

Recently I had a similar idea.
One particular Aasimon gets tired of working for even more powerful guys
and decides that HE deserves some worshiping of his own.He gathers a few
servants and goes to the prime.Worshipers of good dieties are deleighted
and bathe in his light. He kicks Rhuobhe´s butt, the Gorgons stony butt, the
    Magian´s hip bones,the Serpent´s scally behind(you get the picture...).Evil
races are hunted down without mercy.Without any evil abominations on the
way it´s now time to regulate the world of men(by this time neutral
dieties(sp?)should be a bit alarmed)- a strict set of laws defining
non-good acts is written and enforced by the shiny one´s less shiny
ones.Things look rough to mankind (not to mention goblindkind and gnollkind
whose leftovers are hunted at weekends by our shiny lords as a way of
relaxing from pushing humans around and enforcing"thou shall wash your
teeth six times a day"kind of laws.).By now the really shiny one should
rule Cerilia. It´s time to Kick Kriesha´s frozen behind and Belinik´s
unadjectivated one.Hand to hand would be a bit silly (Aasimons are
    powerfull,but a God is a God!)-so what does he do?Hunt down the
worshipers!! No Vos-NO KRIESHA and NO BELINIK!!
It´s now time for the epic adventure-get together your Vos survivors (must
include two priests) and set them on the quest for the ressurection of the
evil gods - by this time Neutral gods shall give all the help they can
provide(It´s possible that the good gods are now conscious(sp?) that the
world needs the evil as much as it needs the good and provide some
help-either that or they are losing power as people are worshiping the
shiny ones and not themselves and help out because are too afraid to die (I
believe that without worshipers a God fades and dies) ).
Well, it´s VERY epic but it´s an alternative to the "lower planes invasion
    campaign".
