    I believe they are led by the Kraken, and I thought I saw somewhere that the
    Kraken did not tolerate blooded followers... or blooded anything for that
    matter. But I refer you to the Havens of the Great Bay expansion for
    reference.

    In the Cities of the Sun it mentions there is an undersea community, likely
    sahaugin, off the coast of Ariya. This would certainly be close enough to
    have an effect on that island, especially if it had some totem or something
    of significance to the creatures.
