Have you noticed that there seems to be a curious bias towards
left-handed bad guys on those covers? The boxed set has a load of
goblin raiders, all of whom seem to be left-handed. I seem to recall
the similar thing on the Highlands cover...... there does seem to be
some kind of pattern here. ;-)

By the way - has anyone else noticed that the Birthright crest on
each background product (the boxed set, Highlands, Havens, Cities and
Tribes) looks like each might feature a different well-known
personality. Cities has Morgan Freeman in his Azeem guise (from
Prince of Thieves), Havens has Richard E. Grant in a goatee beard,
and I'm pretty sure I've seen the bloke on Tribes somewhere else.
They're obviously keeping the younger, black-haired Sean Connery
(Teodor Profiev (sp?) - RoE) company.......

    John.

"Once I was a lamb, playing in a green field. Then
the wolves came. Now I am an eagle and I fly in a
    different universe."
"And now you kill the lambs," whispered Dardalion.
"No, priest. No one pays for lambs."

I've been meaning to comment on this for a while now, but keep
    forgetting.

I'd like to congratulate the BR crowd for the most violent cover to
grace a TSR product in years and years and years. Is it just me, or
does it seem like this cover would never have flown in the days
    before WOTC?

In case that isn't clear enough, I really like the cover of THW. The
burning head on a spear is an image that will keep my players out of
Vosgaard for quite some time to come I suspect. I may have to give
them their own burning head images to tweak their morale a bit.

It's nice to see artwork that gives an accurate feeling for an area,
and the theme of decapitation in Tribes certainly gets across the
    harsh nature of the lands.

Don't let that artist get away.

Yes. This message should be passed on to Tony Sczudlo (hope I didn't smash his
last name too badly). He's a great artist and the BR team feels lucky to have
him. I find his "realistic" style and his depictions of the BR world superior
to most other artists. Not to say others haven't done a good job- I like John
Dollar's depiction of the Queen of Binsada in particular- but Tony's work has
a sharpness and a flair for savagery that only a true Voshound can love.
    Aaaaooooo!

'Bout the left handed bad guys- maybe it makes them more "sinistar".

I just had to add my 2 GB's on this one. Tony is far and away one of the
best artists I have seen work on ANY AD&D related material. I'm thrilled
to DEATH that he is with the BR team. I feel that the artwork is critical
to a fantasy campaign, and there are plenty of others who agree with me.
My best friend likes BR, but is really more into Planescape. However, he
has told me countless times upon my showing him 'yet another glorious piece
of Tony's work' how he loves this artist and wishes he would do PS. I
laugh and tell him no way. Tony is all ours friend. :)
I've been to the last two GenCon's and everytime I'm there I stop by
Tony's booth and chat with him. He's a great guy. I STILL think however
that I should have won that framed BoM cover! ( Hey Ed, next year, how
about a little hint as to the number of gold coins in that coffer, eh? ).
Go through the art galleries at conventions if you go. Look at all the
art, then walk you're way past Tony's stuff. It blows me away every time.
Realistic, high level of detail, actual EMOTION on the faces of the
figures!! Say it isn't so!! Please pass this along to Tony as well. You
the man T. Keep up the incredible work!
