I met the same situation in my campaign. We played "Gathering of
Heroes", taken from Legends of the Hero-King. This scenario take place
during a huge banket. But all festivities may be ruined by traitors in
    the palace...

This scenario is great, but the main difficulty I had, was to get all
    the PCs involved...

A few things to keep in mind on this:

What is the dominant religion of the region? This will have a profound
impact on any type of ceremony to be held, and the presiding priests.
Events that could happen vary just as greatly. A hunt might be appropriate
for worship of Eric, with both the bride and groom working together to
bring in the game. Dueling might work for Cuiraecen of Haelyn, and long
ceremonies appropriate to Neserie. Heck, if the dominant god is one of the
evil twins, perhaps the sacrifice of a noble youth... (yuck)

Is the bride another regent? If this is the case there will be a fair
amount of negations to be made. If not, then who is the bride's family,
and what rights in the lineage will that family have?

I'm sorry I don't have any real knowledge of the renaissance or medieval
weddings, but this isn't really re-creation, is it? Follow whatever you
think to be good for the game.

Don't forget about the aftermath of the wedding either. How will the
nobles of Aerenwe be affected, what new enemies will there be. In one of
my games Roesone and Aerenwe got married into a joint Kingdom and declared
themselves the new Southern Anuirean Empire, totally throwing out the Iron
Throne, and REALLY irking their neighbors.

You see, they set it up so that the SAE announcement would happen at the
reception, and invited all the locals (Tael, the Mhor, Diem, Aglondier,
Boeruine, Avan, and Raenech). And they tricked me, too... They had been
building up for war with each other for a year (campaign time) and then
this. At the reception, we rp'd the giving of gifts (per player request)
and the groom gave the bride a shield bearing the destroyed coat of arms of
Osoerde... "My love, I give you Osoerde" - I should have seen it too,
right out of Stackpole's Battletech: Riposte. (or was it "Coupe") oh
    well.

going to get married .The thing is I don´t know how a proper renaissence
royal wedding would be and I was hoping some of you history expert guys
could give me a hand. Apart from the huge banquets I was thinking about
hunts , tournaments and contests. Would they fit the scenario? How would
    they be? Sugestions welcome.

Wedding customs in Renaissance Italy varied from city to city so much that
a Roman wedding doesn't even resemble a Florentine wedding. Its possible
that customs in Anuire make weddings so different by realm, that there is
no such thing as an Aunirian wedding.

In addition, weddings and other religous rituals might be different in
each religon. (Christian vs. Shinto vs. Confucian vs. Bhudist, etc.)
